Rev. Dr. Peter Prosser

Professor Prosser holds B.Th., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Montreal
and a Diploma in foreign languages from Bethel College (Quebec)
 

Rev. Dr Peter Prosser was born in England in 1946 and brought up in Jehovah’s Witness doctrine. He came to Canada in 1967, became a Christian in Toronto in the Charismatic Renewal, and worked that summer with Youth with a Mission. In September 1967, he began studying scripture at Bible College for three years. He then worked with Pentecostal Assemblies for 4 years before going to the University of Montreal, studying in French, graduated with a B. Th. Applying to become an Anglican priest,

Peter was ordained by Bishop Hollis in 1975. He was assigned to St. Matthew’s, Hampstead work-ing with Archdeacon Stuart Martin for two years. He was an Organizing Chaplain to the athletes for the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. He worked as a parish Priest in West Missouri while completing an MA in Theology at the University of Montreal in 1978. He was installed as the parish priest at Terrebonne-Mascouche and served there for 5 years. He worked with Catholic Charismatic Renewal extensively while in the Montreal area. He became associate professor of Church History and Christian Doctrine at Regent University in Virginia in 1983 and full professor in 1991 after receiving his PhD in Theology and Church History from the University of Montreal in 1990. He continues to teach online until next year. He was also Associate Rector of Galilee Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach for 23 years, introducing the parish to Bible study, the Healing ministry and missions. He began a missions program there that took him (and often others) to many places, such as Ireland, UK, many African nations, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, China and the Dominican Republic as well as hundreds of missions in USA and Canada. He has spoken and presented papers at many theology and ethics meetings. In 2001, he was named as one of 500 out-standing professors and teachers world-wide and given the International Order of Merit by Cambridge, UK.

He is now semi-retired, but continues to minister at various churches in Montreal Diocese and is planning a healing seminar with the Malaysian Church in 2010, and the International Order of Saint Luke. He has also co-ministered at 3 conferences with Francis McNutt and Mahesh Chevda. He usually teaches on the Healing Ministry, Spiritual Gifts, World Religions and Cults. Peter has been married to his lovely wife Frida since 1970 and they have two married daughters. He also volunteers his time teaching semi-illiterate. and functionally illiterate persons to read and write.
